Environmental Advisor

We have a great opportunity for an experienced Environmental Advisor to join our clients operations in NSW. If you’re passionate about the environmental side of health and safety and want to advance your career then we want to hear from you.

The role will be influencing all matters Environmental, behavioural differences and land rehabilitation. This bench mark operation is looking to improve the environmental management across their projects and the individual they seek will embrace the role and have a can do attitude!

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Environmental Coordinator Or Manager pending your level, you will be responsible for continuously improving the environmental management systems, operational approvals and licensing
  • Conducting risk analysis on current projects and the effect they could potentially have on the environment
  • Working closely with management and construction teams to raise awareness on environmental issues and concerns
  • Development, Improvement and Maintenance of organisation environmental plans to ensure desired goals are reached
  • Sound understanding of current environmental legislation standards and codes of practice
  • Conduct audits, inspections and report writing where required
  • Assist with the development and implementation of current environmental related training manuals
  • Identify safety and environmental hazards 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Environmental Science Degree or similar is a MUST
  • A minimum of 4 years practical experience as an Environmental Advisor or similar
  • Previous experience working on large scale projects
  • Excellent communications skills both written and verbal with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Possess strong negotiation / conflict management skills
  • Strong knowledge of Environmental and Mining industry legislation and standards including ISO14001:2004 Environmental Management Systems
  • Full Australian Drivers License
  • Possess strong MS Office skills
  • Ability to work well within a team and handle highly stressful situation
