Description:
- [Company] is seeking an experienced and motivated Environmental Impact Assessment Consultant to join our growing Impact Assessment & Planning practice in Charleston, SC. The successful candidate will have extensive environmental impact assessment and regulatory/permitting experience and will assist Project Managers on a variety of EIA and water management projects to support our power sector clients.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as team member for EIA and sustainability projects and related activities in support of [Company] clients’ international development projects, with a primary focus on the Oil & Gas and Power sectors.
- Conduct environmental sampling, evaluate and analyze data, and assist with technical report writing
- Preparing Biological Assessments (BAs) and Habitat Conservation Plans (HCPs) meeting U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) and National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) requirements
- NPDES permitting, water/wastewater withdrawal/usage permitting, and CWA 316a and 316b permitting.
- Negotiate and present permit applications to regulatory and natural resources agencies.
- Conduct regulatory reviews, land use, land planning, regulatory programs and strategic development.
- Perform construction and mitigation design and oversight/monitoring.
- Work within quality/budget/schedule expectations and scope-specific assignments.
- Communicate with subcontractors, regulatory agents, tenants, and clients during field activities.
Requirements:
- Bachelors in Fisheries or Biology; Masters preferred.
- 5+ years of experience, including business development.
- Willing to travel and possibly work at project sites for short periods of time.
- Excellent writing ability (in English). Fluent in English and technical language used in the renewable power and sustainability reporting industries.
- Solid grasp of the key environmental and sustainability issues within the Oil & Gas and Power sectors.
- Positive reputation with key clients relevant to international companies.
- Well-developed teambuilding and influencing skills; unquestioned integrity; and the experience, confidence, and stature to effectively address client and business needs and challenges.
