Electronic Subsystem Integration & Test Engineer

Job Description

• [Company] in Irvine has an opening for an Electronic Subsystem Integration & Test Engineer. The selected candidate will be a member of the Fuel Systems Division Electronic Engineering Team responsible for the subsystem integration and test. Collaborate with project, system, subsystem, and design engineers to develop test requirements, operation scenarios, test plans and procedures, verification and validation matrices. Design and implement bench test equipment and test scripts.

Essential Functions may include:

• Synthesize customer needs and requirements into system/subsystem test solutions that
• acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
• Prepare complex functional, performance, and environmental test procedures and test scripts
• Architect, design, implement, operate and maintain bench test equipment
• Develop test scripts and execute the functional tests
• Conduct functional testing, performance testing, and environmental testing
• Plan and coordinate equipment and facilities logistics in support of assembly and test
• Lead the investigation and resolution of hardware problems/failures
• Assemble, integrate, test, validate and deliver/deploy system/subsystems
• Partner with other engineers in resolving complex system integration and tests
• Prepare and present analyses and engineering test results
• Perform hardware integration and verification/validation tests
• Generate LRU product specifications, test procedures for acceptance, engineering development engineering verification and qualification.

Position Criteria:

• Extensive understanding and wide application of advanced principles, theories, concepts and techniques in electrical integration, verification and validation, and system level testing, including test planning, test procedures development, test execution, and post test data analysis
• Extensive understanding and wide application of principles, theories, concepts and techniques in understanding hardware/software interfaces
• Extensive knowledge of applicable industry and/or academic practices and standards in analog and digital circuitry (circuit design and circuit analysis)
• Flexibility to support rotating shift assignments (first shift/second shift) as well as occasional weekend shifts
• Occasional travel required
• Knowledge of complete end-to-end system (hardware, software, ground support equipment (HW and software)
• Experience in generating, releasing, and executing multiple electrical integration and functional

Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements)

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical/Electronic Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Electrical Integration, Design, and Test in an aerospace environment.
• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
• No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate OC/LA area will be considered for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

• MSEE
• Broad knowledge in System Integration and Test
• Experience in MATLAB, LabView, C, and scripting language
• Experience designing, fabricating, and testing Electrical Bench Test Equipment
• Experience troubleshooting complex digital and analog hardware anomalies
• Experience operating electrical test instrumentation (oscilloscope, digital voltmeter, logic analyzer, current probe)
