  • The vision of the Peroxygens Division is to be a leading global supplier of oxidation solutions to environmental, anti-microbial, and other specialty markets building on our peroxygens chemistries and adjacent technologies. The Bayport team is growing their specialty production capabilities, and the Technical Manager at Bayport plays a key role in supporting the strategic vision.

Responsibilities:

  • Bayport Management Team– Share leadership in site improvement efforts and general management of the Bayport facility consistent with the stated beliefs, values, and behavioral standards of the site.
  • Loss Prevention – Direct the implementation of the department’s loss prevention programs.  Ensure that all process projects maintain or enhance overall safety and health conditions, and that hazardous processes have been audited for compliance with new or existing governmental regulations.  Ensure that all products made and shipped do not contribute to the injury or illness of employees, customers, or the general public.
  • Cost Management – Manage the resources required to plan, develop and implement cost reduction projects or programs to continuously reduce product costs.
  • Human Resources– Formulate and propose proper organizational structure and development activities required to develop and maintain a motivated workforce capable of meeting or exceeding technical department goals.  Help develop shared leadership by participation in the Bayport Network Teams.
  • Process Technology – Manage the resources required to plan, develop, and implement process improvements that enhance or maintain product quality and production efficiencies to meet the specific customer requirements and production needs.  Contribute to the Division’s R&D and other process improvement/expansion projects.
  • Environmental – Manage the environmental program to maintain/enhance overall environmental conditions and to ensure the plant’s compliance with Corporate and Legislative Guidelines.
  • Human Relations – Exemplify the site’s behavioral standards and actively participate in a Site Improvement Committee.
  • Process Safety– Manage and implement process safety systems to support/sustain/improve plant safety culture and practices.  Oversee the MOC and Process Investigation Systems.  Drive safety and process change action items to prompt completion.
  • Responsible Care Management Systems- Any other responsibilities listed in RC-XX-01-001 “Roles and Responsibility Matrix” as it pertains to RCMS.

Required Education:

  • BS Chemical Engineering or Chemistry or equivalent experience.

Qualifications:

  • Line and/or staff supervisory experience in the chemical industry.  H2O2 experience is preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years technical or operations experience.
  • Strong operations and cost improvement track record.
  • Managerial, interpersonal, analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
  • This position can enact changes in operating variables within established guidelines and conduct tests which could potentially increase efficiency and/or improve product quality.
