Sustainability Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Create and maintain Life Cycle Analyses (LCA) for all major [Company] products
• Maintain materials database
• Serve as a member of small “Center of Excellence” teams promoting energy, water and waste management best practices
• Assist technical teams in evaluation of product development alternatives and process development alternatives
• Assist marketing teams with the creation of value propositions based on LCA
• Employ tools such as value mapping to identify opportunities for cost reduction
• Monitor industry best practices in resource efficiency and identify where efficiencies can be improved at [Company] sites
• Monitor industry best practices in sustainability analyses
• Support businesses’ need to respond to customer and other stakeholder audits as necessary

Required Education:

• B.S. degree - in engineering, chemical/industrial or similar degree

Qualifications:

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to determine actionable projects that achieve results
• Minimum three years’ experience in a manufacturing environment within the chemical, agrochemicals, food ingredient or pharmaceutical ingredient sectors
• Experience working on sustainability analyses and initiatives
• Demonstrated ability to employ analytical, communication and teamwork skills to influence direction across a complex global organization.
• Demonstrated success managing multiple projects to meet overarching objectives
• Must be able to travel 25 – 40 % of the time.
• Ability to use variety of computer software and tools
