THE OPPORTUNITY:
The Supply Management Professional will be responsible for contract formation to support the operational activities of Canadian Natural’s Conventional, Thermal and Oil Sands production.  Our Supply Management  team oversees and drives the activities and resources required to execute the procurement and contract management process including scope development, supply market research and positioning, requests for proposals/quotations, evaluation, negotiation and award of contracts and agreements.

HOW WILL YOU MAKE YOUR MARK?
• Plan, develop and execute procurement strategies; manage the complete Request for Proposal through to award of business processes in a manner that supports both the business area and corporate objectives, in a professional, ethical manner
• Negotiate and award agreements and contracts to contractors and suppliers to ensure services and supplies are provided to Canadian Natural in the most cost effective and proficient manner possible
• Identify and resolve issues, bottlenecks, problems and challenges to negotiate and award quality agreements in a timely manner
• Identify opportunities through the evaluation of supply management arrangements and make recommendations with the intent of adding more value to Canadian Natural
• Advance the presence and contribution of Supply Management activities to support business areas and achieve corporate objectives
• Mentor and assist in the development of less experienced staff
• Establish and maintain auditable files for all contracts to ensure proper documentation is in place and can be referred to
• Liaise with legal, risk, finance, accounting, labour relations, internal client business area and other stakeholders to ensure that agreement and contract terms address all related requirements and policies

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Typically 5+ years of related industry experience with University degree or related post secondary education
• Certification as a Supply Chain Management Professional (S.C.M.P.) or Certified Purchasing Professional (C.P.P.) is considered beneficial
• Familiarity with and understanding of:
   o Contract formation
   o Internal customer service:
      • Understanding requirements, explaining processes, developing bu-in
      • Developing clear and complete scopes of work
      • Develop effective negotiation strategy
   o Developing Request for Proposals for variety of services and supplies
   o Carrying out analytical evaluation of proposals and commercial Negotiations
   o Commercial, risk, liability and legal terms and conditions
