With a blue-chip client list and the vast majority of their work coming from repeat business, our client has more than twenty years' experience in delivering exceptional service to the environmental consulting markets across NSW, QLD and VIC. Due to continued growth they are looking for a Graduate Consultant to start with them around the beginning of February 2013 in their Sydney offices.
Working closely with a Senior Consultant, who will act as your mentor, your role will focus on delivering a range of contaminated land and general environmental assessment projects within the Sydney area. To do this you will be required to:
•Investigate and assess soil and groundwater sites for contamination
•Conduct sampling of soil and groundwater
•Review and interpret complex data
•Produce reports for clients and authorities
•Liaise with a variety of external stakeholders including clients, other consultants and government authorities
The successful candidate will be taken through an intensive and comprehensive induction programme aimed at quickly bringing you up to speed with company protocols and procedures. As your role progresses, under the supervision of some of the country's leading contaminated land professionals, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects types including due diligence, audit, developer-driven and landfill projects. This variety of work and access to highly skilled consultants will be both challenging and professionally rewarding.
To be considered for this role you will have a degree in Environmental Science or Engineering (or equivalent), plus:
•An academic background in geology, hydrogeology, soil science or geochemistry will be highly regarded
•Some experience or knowledge of the contaminated land industry will be essential
•A consistent and high-level of academic achievement will be essential
•An ability to communicate easily with a wide degree of industry professionals
•Confidence (but not arrogance)
