An exciting opportunity has arisen for a recent graduate/ junior Mechanical Designer/Drafter based in our Burlington Office. We are looking for someone with passion, drive, and motivation in the delivery of high technical standards and quality to our clients within a growing consulting team environment.

Job Requirements:
  • Experience with detailing of industrial and chemical piping systems, both 2D & 3D
  • Preparation of piping isometrics, line lists, and material take-offs.
  • Understanding of pipe support design requirements and movements.
  • Experience in the preparation of mechanical equipment layouts and general arrangement plans and sections.
  • Preparation of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams.
  • Knowledge of material specifications and standards.
  • Field experience safely obtaining existing site information with respect to pipe routing, arrangements, supports, and sizes to develop background drawings with limited assistance.
  • Knowledge of engineering work flow process and industry standards.
  • Ability to work closely with senior engineers and senior designers on completion of deliverables with challenging schedules.
  • Comprehensive understanding and proficiency with 2D & 3D CAD tools and applications such as: AutoCAD, AutoPlant, Navisworks, SmartPlant


  • Diploma, Engineering Design and Drafting Technology (Process Piping Major) or a Process Piping Drafting Certificate combined with relevant job experience.
  • 1 to 2 years of CAD experience working within a consulting engineering firm on industrial and/or chemical plant projects.
  • Field work experience is a strong asset.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate technically, clearly, and effectively: written, spoken, and interpersonal.
  • Good understanding of mechanical design principles, codes and standards.
  • Ability to assist with problem solving and to prepare clear layout drawings.
  • Good organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and collaboratively in a fast-paced engineering environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software .
