Lead Mechanical Project Engineer

Requirements

• B.Sc. Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 10 years experience in both design and engineering off large scale process plant projects
• Experience with mechanical equipment for hydrometallurgical, chemical, petrochemical or refinery plants incl. ASME Code pressure vessels, heat exchangers, static and rotating equipment & API tanks
• Ability to lead a team of Engineers in an EPCM environment to carry our development of Scope of Work, Cost Estimates, Manpower Planning, Technical Specifications, Purchase Packages, Deliverable tracking and Vendor Design Review
• Strong English skills, both written and verbal. Command of Spanish is an advantage
• Willing to work worldwide for extended periods

Responsibilities

• Ensure that the discipline's work is carried out according to company procedures, noting that these may be modified for specific projects subject to prior approval
• Compile and monitor discipline's manhour budget for design, follow up, construction involvement, commissioning, compilation of manuals, etc. as required
• Participate in setting the project scope definition, design criteria, budgets and schedule
• Coordination and integration of all discipline activities with other disciplines, subcontractors and clients
• Participate in the Engineering, Procurement and Construction criticality analysis meetings
• Generate, control, review and approve equipment lists, equipment schedules and bills of material
• Assign tasks to design engineering personnel and ensure optimum utilisation
• Ensure that all discipline documentation is prepared, circulated, approved, transmitted and filed in accordance with procedures. Ensure that company administrative procedures are implemented as regards discipline timesheets, leave approval, financial control etc
