Weir Canada inc., Pump Division,
offers high duty pumping units and systems for many of the most demanding
industrial applications. Principal markets served include power generation,
oil/gas, water and sewage, mining and minerals processing and pulp & paper.
There
are two challenging and rewarding opportunities that are presently
vacant. These positions are appointed to the Weir Pumps Division at the Aerowood
Drive Mississauga
location. They are:
QUALITY COORDINATOR
- Under supervision of the Supply Chain
Manager the Quality Coordinator shall perform quality duties to
include but not limited to the following:
- In conjunction
with purchasing, develop and implement quality inspection standards, work
instructions and procedures for outsourced material.
- Conduct source
inspections and quality audits (as necessary) at supplier’s premises.
- Strong working
relationship with production, quality control inspection and receiving
inspection.
- Coordination of
all tasks conducted within the pump group and activities related to:
maintenance of ISO 9001, 14001 and 18001 quality systems; Lean Kaizen
activities and continuous improvement activities through value stream mapping.
- Process
nonconforming material, corrective action and preventative action reports per
internal guidelines.
- Participate and
coordinate with Corporate Quality Assurance yearly ISO audits and resolve as
required corrective actions.
- Assists Product
Management and Project Management with preparation and execution of all major
projects.
- Preparation,
issuance and execution of inspection and test planning.
- Create quality
records within existing company framework.
Qualification and skills required:
- Metrology, use of manufacturing
measuring devises.
- Knowledge of quality improvement
tools such as Pareto charts, histograms, cause and effect diagrams.
- Expertise in castings, fabrications,
machining a definite asset.
- Knowledge of Pump, valve, rotating
equipment an asset.
- Proficient in material
specifications i.e. ASTM, ASME. Etc.
- Advanced computer skills e.g. Word,
Excel, Power Point.
- ISO certification.
- Spoken, written and presentation
skills.
Experience & Education:
- Minimum 5 years related experience
in a manufacturing environment.
- Technical certification and/or
related job experience.
- Post secondary education
