Boge & Boge is seeking services for long term employment of a Sr
Mechanical Design Engineer with 15+ years experience related to heavy industry
in bulk materials handling design, piping design, pump and motor sizing,
Bentley Autoplant and some proficiency in AutoCad is preferred.

Responsibilities
include:
- Designing
Mechanical drafting systems related to mining and mineral and chemical
processing; covering areas such as materials handling systems, fluid
transfer systems, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, piping, air handling
and other related industrial process equipment and general arrangements.
- Coordinate
activities with mechanical engineer, a senior industrial engineer and a
senior mechanical engineer.
- Supervision
role is optional. Candidates
seeking to drafting position only, may still apply.
- Attend weekly
production meetings and coordinate drafting activities.
- Reviewing
project documents prior to issue including coordination, drawing standard
conformance, shop dwg review, scope and presentation.
- Developing
and maintaining positive in-house staff relationships and assisting with staff
hiring and performance review.
Mentoring junior staff will also be a part of this role.
- Developing
and maintaining positive, sustainable client relationships.
- Coordinating
and working with project team members including other in-house disciplines
and subcontracted services.
- Some field
work to scope out modifications for existing facilities, pipe runs or
equipment relocation.
- Write
inspection reports, make field investigations, record site measurements.
- Report to the
Chief engineer and coordinate with other department.
- Detail design
in collaboration with multi disciplined designers and equipment suppliers.
- Some basic
Mechanical design experience is an asset.
Qualifications:
- Broad
knowledge of mining processing methods, agri-food processing methods and
understanding of industry codes, standards, and construction methods
- Experience
working on mining and/or heavy industrial projects is an asset
- Able to work
in a design-build and EPCM contract form.
- 15 years
minimum experience working on mining and/or heavy industrial projects is
required with focus on surface and underground mining projects.
- Ability to
handle multiple tasks and prioritize work for team.
- Strong
interpersonal and communication skills
- AutoCAD
extensive experience required, Microstation optional, XSteel Optional
- Energetic and
Goal orientated
