Boge & Boge (1980) Ltd is a family owned and operated business
providing engineering, project management and construction services to the
industrial sector including mining and agri-food processing. Clients are typically in Western Canada with new
opportunities in Africa.
Often working with Boge are: Diaser Management (2006) Ltd. which is an
industrial construction company in operation for 20 years working in mining,
canola/oilseed processing and agri-food facilities and Klondike Star Mineral
Corporation, a mineral exploration group undertaking projects in Yukon
Territory and Egypt.
Our firm is located in Winnipeg Manitoba. Both the Assiniboine and Red River intersect in this
city of 700,000+ residents just 1.5 hrs north of the US border. Winnipeg is an affordable

Boge & Boge is seeking services for long term employment of a Sr
Structural Design Engineer with 15+ years experience related to heavy industry
experience in reinforced concrete and structural steel facilities design and
analysis
Bentley Autoplant and some proficiency in AutoCad are preferred.

Responsibilities
include:
- Providing
structural design and technical support including concept design,
calculations, connection design, field investigations, and solutions for
the construction or repair of industrial facilities. Experience in commercial construction is
also beneficial.
- Direct
supervision of 4 structural drafters and two structural engineers.
- Supervision
role is optional. Candidates
seeking to engineer only, may still apply.
- Reviewing
project documents prior to issue including coordination and technical
check, drawing standard conformance, shop dwg review, scope and
presentation.
- Developing
and maintaining positive in-house staff relationships and assisting with
staff hiring and performance review.
Mentoring junior staff will also be a part of this role.
- Developing
and maintaining positive, sustainable client relationships.
- Coordinating
and working with project team members including other in-house disciplines
and subcontracted services.
- Travel out of
town approximately 4 days per month, occasionally more depending on the
project.
- Report to the
Chief engineer as well as president and coordinate with other department
heads including financial, mechanical engineering and construction
services.
- Write
scoping, pre-feasibility and feasibility studies and provide input on
and/or submit proposals/bids and generate technical reports.
- Assist in
civil construction capital estimates.
- Writing
specifications and reviewing contract documents.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate
or Graduate Degree in Civil Engineering, specializing in structural design
- Ability to
register as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in the province of Manitoba, other
provinces including Alberta and Saskatchewan are an asset
but not required.
- Broad scope
knowledge of civil designs and an understanding of industry codes,
standards, and Canadian construction methods
- Able to work
in design-build and EPCM contract format.
- Material
design experience, including the use of structural steel, reinforced
concrete, masonry, wood and cladding systems.
- Experience
working on mining and/or heavy industrial projects is an asset
- Ability to
handle multiple tasks and prioritize work for team
- Strong
interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent
analytical and problem solving skills
- Practical
Design Skill set.
- Project
Management skills including familiarity with Kepner Trego philosophy and
Microsoft Project is an asset
