Underground Maintenance, Mechanic, Electrician, Technician

Black Beauty Coal Company is seeking applicants for all three levels of underground maintenance; Sr Mech/Elect, Mechanic and Maintenance Technician for its underground mining facility near Francisco, Indiana.

ALL LEVELS Must have high school diploma or GED.

Job Summary/Essential Functions for all levels:

• Perform, or train to gain, necessary skills to perform electrical, mechanical and hydraulic repairs of underground mining equipment.
• Maintain, or become qualified to, maintain underground equipment in permissible condition as defined by MSHA.
• Perform scheduled maintenance, and complete reports and records as required.
  Special Skills or Qualifications for SR MECHANIC/ELECTRICIAN UNDERGROUND:
• Must have current MSHA electrical certification. (High, medium, and low voltage, underground)
• Must have underground miners license or face papers in the state where working or obtain them at the first available opportunity.

Special Skills or Qualifications for MECHANIC UNDERGROUND:

• Must have demonstrated welding and fabrication skills.
• Must become knowledgeable of State and Federal mining regulations pertaining to underground mining including diesel permissibility.
• Must have demonstrated operating, repairing, and troubleshooting skills on section and outby equipment. (Continuous miners, battery haulage equipment, feeders, scoops, roof bolters, etc.)
• Must be able to fabricate from blueprints and troubleshoot from service manuals.
• Must obtain underground miners license or face papers in the state where working at first available opportunity.
  Special Skills or Qualifications for MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN UNDERGROUND:
• Must have electrical maintenance experience and/or electrical training/schooling (preferred in underground mining).
• Must pass basic electrical skills assessment related to repairing and troubleshooting equipment.
• Must have underground miners license or face papers in the state where working or obtain them at first available opportunity.
