The Company:
This mid-tier mining company has a number of producing and exploration mines in both Australia and the Asia Pacific.
They have a strong focus on the new development of mines in the local and international capacity adding value to their portfolio.
Your Position:
Reporting to the Environmental Manager your role as the Senior Environmental Officer will have you providing your support and expertise in the community and environmental performance of the site work areas.
With your prior experience in the environmental realm you will be required to:-
· Assist in compliance in both the site and corporate capacity.
· Implement management systems and projects.
· Involve yourself in community relations as required.
· Work along side the Environmental Coordinator in implementing environmental strategies.
As a site based role in the WA Mid West you will be interacting with the Environmental and Health and Safety teams.
Ensuring the policies and procedures are being adhered to and implemented.
Working closely with the Environmental Officer and Coordinator you will work as a team to infiltrate any changes necessary.
Your Qualifications:
You will have a degree in Environmental Science or a related discipline with a minimum of 5 years experience in the mining industry with underground exposure desired.
You will have the ability to deal with both government and non-government organisations and will possess the knowledge in the environmental legislation, site inspections, audits and environmental improvement programs.
