Our client is a global leader in the design, manufacture and supply of
wire and cable products.
CANDIDATE MUST CURRENTLY LIVE IN EUROPE – SORRY NO EXPAT
PACKAGE FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
- The Strategic Sourcing Manager will report to the Vice President of
Strategic Global Resources
- This reporting relationship will, in conjunction with similar reporting
roles in North America and China, form a copper
management team
- This team will focus on the complete supply chain for copper worldwide
- In addition, this position in Europe will provide
essential services to the entire European business effort
- Therefore, this position will frequently report results and respond to
requests of the CFO – Europe.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The primary responsibility of the Strategic Sourcing Manager (SSM) is to
manage the copper supply chain through all European entities
- This includes the annual negotiations with suppliers, contract execution
and compliance, inventory management, hedging functions and supplier
relationships.
This individual will:
- Lead the effort to develop sourcing strategies including the mix between
cathode and rod as well as developing new supplier relationships and
maintaining established ones.
- Seek to lower the total cost of procurement across all Europe entities while at
the same time ensuring continuity of supply.
- Own the hedging function in Europe
- The hedging is largely in support of the sales effort and close ties to
the sales team will be required to effectively hedge the procurement of copper
with the sales commitments.
- Take advantage of Company’s global network and market conditions to
extract value from the market at no or minimal risk.
EDUCATION
- A Bachelors degree in Business is required
- An MBA or other advanced
degree would be an advantage in this assignment
- Excellent communication skills including English (French, Italian and
German are a plus).
EXPERIENCE:
- A total of 10 years business experience in the metals
- Strong experience working with LME in a hedging role (Hedging metals
strongly preferred)
- Milestones: First Six Months
- Immediately engage with team to develop strategies for the program.
- Analyze present situation for each region, and define opportunities and targets
(“landscape overview”).
- Evaluate current processes and team.
- Build a comprehensive strategic and tactical plan in order to achieve
new results.
- Have an in-depth knowledge of the structure of the organization, its customers,
products and services.
COMPENSATION
- A meaningful compensation package will be developed for the successful
candidate that includes a base salary, annual bonus, liberal vacation policy,
relocation expenses along with health insurance and a retirement program that
is considered to be outstanding in the market.
