Objective:
- This position is
responsible for identifying materials resource opportunities and assist in the
development and execution of resource development action plans for the Southern
California Branch of Granite West.
Essential Functions:
- Identify materials resource
opportunities that are consistent with branch goals.
- Assist in the development
and execution of resource development action plans.
- Assist in the development
and execution of entitlement process, public relations plan, legal and environmental
review process.
- Provide economic
justification to support specific investigation by working with Corporate
Development and Construction Materials Group on a financial valuation.
- Facilitate market surveys
using internal resources.
- Conduct specific property
investigation, land use planning.
- Coordinate legal agreements
using in-house and outside counsel.
- Maintain confidentiality with
owners and consultants.
- Verify resource quantity
and quality through collaboration with company and/or independent geologist.
- Work with consultants,
citizen groups and public agencies to accelerate the approval of conditional
use permits, environmental reports, etc.
- Self motivated, strategic,
analytical, strong interpersonal skills. Has a desire to use experience and
education to work on projects that involve real estate, public affairs, legal,
technical, financial, and operational issues
- This person must understand
the larger picture and how our goals fit into that picture.
Required
- Education: BS or equivalent
in one or more of the following disciplines is preferred: Geology, Civil
Engineering, Construction Management, Environmental Engineering, Mining,
Marketing or Business.
Required
- Experience: Minimum of 3 to
8 years of experience in the construction and/or construction materials
business
- The experience gained in
this position should lead to advancement within this Branch or other Branches
within the company.
- Travel: Approx. 30%
