Our Client specializes in iron ore and manages projects and opportunities in Western Australia, South Australia and the Northern Territory.
They are at the forefront of minerals processing and are an industry leader for large-scale materials handling.
Their scope of work includes management of safety and health, environment, community and indigenous affairs, construction and maintenance of earthworks and services infrastructures.
They are seeking a Senior Safety Coordinator who will play a key role in leading site-based safety initiatives and reporting to the Safety and Health Superintendent for their iron ore operation in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.
Duties of this role include:
· Relieving Safety and Health Superintendent
· Coordinating training and of training records
· Coordinating workplace inspections, task observations, incident investigations and reports
· Coordinating Safety Management Systems, Statutory Regulations and Client Requirements
· Injury management and rehabilitation
· Hazard identification and risk assessment
Requirements of this role include:
· Diploma in Occupational Safety or equivalent
· Previous experience in a similar role within the mining industry
· Well developed interpersonal and communication skills
· Sound knowledge of safety management systems
