Plant Metallurgist

Our Client is an Australian gold producer, with current production of 170,000 ounces of gold per annum, increasing to an anticipated 450,000 ounces per annum during the second half of 2008.
In addition, the Company is exploring Australia wide for gold, nickel and copper, supported by a $24 million per year exploration budget.
They are currently seeking a suitably experienced and qualified Plant Metallurgist to be a member of the metallurgical team and to participate in a proactive way that ensures safety, production and metallurgical targets are achieved in line with planned objectives of the Processing Department.
You will provide technical expertise, leadership and consultancy to the processing teams so that they may conduct their activities with maximum benefit to their goals.
You will be responsible for;
· Day to day optimization, monitoring and reporting on the production efficiency of process plant
· Actively participating in safety and environmental compliance in line with the business objectives
The successful candidate will possess:
· Relevant qualifications in Metallurgy, Process or Chemical Engineering
· Experience within the mining industry
· Be a proactive individual with sound problem solving skills and knowledge of metallurgical testing procedures
· Have strong interpersonal and communication skills
· Be able to demonstrate sound computer literacy, with an advanced knowledge of spreadsheets.
