Chief Financial Officer

Dynamic start-up company with significant coal holdings in the Midwest is in search of a CFO to oversee the areas of finance, accounting, budgeting, reporting, purchasing, transportation, and management information systems. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Be a partner in the executive team to ensure that financial considerations have priority in all decision making. 
• Prepare and/or review financial analyses as required by management in assessing alternative capital projects or other transactional decisions.
• Manage the company’s cash flow. Determine the company’s financial requirements and ensure sufficient funds are available for project/operating purposes.
• Work in close coordination with the company’s shareholders, ensure that relationships with the company’s bankers are cultivated and maintained
• Oversee the preparation of all external reports, registrations, filings, and licenses required by the Securities and Exchange Commission, if applicable, and other governmental agencies.
• Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance, or accounting with preference for an MBA or masters degree. CPA certification is desirable
• Ten to fifteen years' experience in finance and accounting functions is necessary; involvement in the mining or natural resource industry for at least six years will be considered favorable.
