Laboratory Technician

Responsibilities
- Update documents/procedures
with changes in international standards and customer specifications
- Test on time to priorities
– Stress Rupture, Creep Rupture, Tensile Testing (Ambient and Elevated),
Hardness
- Maintain mechanical test
database, Reporting results
- Review, report and
investigate mechanical testing failures and understand retest procedures
- Assist and provide cover
for the manufacture of test specimen utilising: Crush Grinding, Lathe, EDM and
Drill
- Technical drawings
- Be able to interpret and
adhere to Company drawings and procedures (SLPs)
- Keep your area clean and
tidy at all times
- Notify supervision of any
equipment failures
- Additional duties and
responsibilities as designated by procedures.
Qualifications:
- No formal qualification
required but qualifications in Mathematics and English are favorable.
Experience:
- Metallurgy
- Heat treatment and
controlling instruments
- Quality systems e.g. UKAS
accredited systems
- Computer literacy
- Metallographic
preparation techniques and use of cut-off machine
