They currently have a vacancy for a qualified Mine Geologist with highly developed technical, leadership and planning skills.
This is a key role where the incumbent will provide expert advice and recommendations to senior personnel whilst providing leadership and coaching to develop the skills of the geology team.
You will interact daily with the engineering department and educate them on the geological aspects of the mine to ensure safe and efficient extraction of coal.
Your duties will include but will be not limited to the following:
· Assist engineers for planning and scheduling of coaling operations
· Provide advice and recommendations to engineers to ensure optimal operating methodologies aimed at to reducing loss and dilution of coal
· Coal quality monitoring
· Geological modelling
· Training, coaching and mentoring the geological team
To be successful in this role you must have:
· Tertiary qualifications in Geology
· Strong technical skills applicable to open pit operations
· Problem solving abilities
· Experience managing a team of professionals
· Willingness to develop geological and geotechnical expertise further through external training and attending industry events
