We are currently seeking a Tool Design Engineer to join our
manufacturing team at our Milwaukee, WI. headquarters location.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Tooling Design Engineer at P&H Mining has primary
responsibility for design and management of tooling, fixturing and gauging
requirements within the P&H Milwaukee Machining Operations
- This includes troubleshooting of tooling, fixture and
gauging related issues in our low volume/high mix
- machining / manufacturing areas.
- Requisitioning of appropriate tooling, fixtures and gauges
for Fabrication,
- Machining, Assembly and Tool Room
- Supervision of hourly tool room staff will be required
- Responsible for Subcontractor and Vendor contacts and
relationships related to Tool Engineering.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate
Degree or related study at a technical school of design, fixture, and tool and
die work is required
- Significant,
applicable work experience in the tool and die design area will be
considered in lieu of a degree
- Minimum
of three years machining experience
- Experience
with CNC machining practices, metals and associated heat-treating
implications.
- Knowledge of and exposure to gear cutting tools and
induction hardening processes is a plus.
- Experience with and knowledge of, gauging and inspection.
- Working knowledge of Solid Works CAD System, SmarTeam along
with general computer literacy.
- Experience with basic industry standards and principles
revolving around detail and design.
- Self -driven achiever, with excellent interpersonal
communication and relationship building skills along with strong goal
achievement and project management skill sets.
- Prior experience interacting with a unionized workforce is
also a plus.
