Metallurgists

The Processing Department is responsible for the safe, efficient and effective processing of U3O8 in accordance with operating plans based on sales and market commitments.

Position

• Vacancies exist for Metallurgists in the Metallurgical Services Section of the Processing Department
• Reporting to the Chief Metallurgist the successful candidates will be responsible to optimise the production process and to review operation practices, methodology and technological application to achieve safe, low-cost and efficient operation
• This includes the investigation of alternatives both technically and economically and to provide advice for metallurgical operation of the plant
• Plant expansion projects are currently being evaluated and the opportunity exists for individuals who seek development in being part of the design and commissioning of new processes.

Minimum Requirements:

• A Degree in Chemical/ Metallurgical Engineering or equivalent qualification

Desirable Requirements

• 2 years post qualification experience as a Metallurgist in a process environment.
• Appropriate working experience with Plant Control System e.g. Experion, Metallurgical Planning
• System will be an added advantage
• Code BE (08) drivers license
• Short listed candidates will be subjected to assessments.
