The I-Site Laser Scanner and Software Suite is the leading
edge of technology in the survey field. Laser scanning is increasingly accepted
throughout the survey world as a premier tool for topographic mapping. The
I-Site system is an integral hardware and software package developed by our
I-Site group which eliminates the common interface problems seen when survey
hardware and software are supplied by two independent companies
You will be amazed how easy our I-Site Studio software is to
use. If you have mining experience, our sister Maptek product, Vulcan Mine Planning
and Design software may be familiar to you. Moving I-Site data to Vulcan
is seamless.
About the Laser Scanner Technical Consultant position:

Maptek seeks an entry to midlevel land surveyor looking for
an exciting working environment and a long term, meaningful career
- This position visits mine sites, crime scenes, coast lines,
and anywhere else our clients want to scan and process, survey, and process 3D
data points
- The job at Maptek is never boring and provides a variety of
different duties.
- The Laser Scanner Consultant trains our clients in the use
the I-Site scanner and accompanying software, provides support via phone and
email from our office in Colorado, or completes projects for our
clients through expert consultation services
- This position, in addition to a generous base salary, a
commission is paid for billable consulting and training work performed in the
field as well as the Maptek office.
Desired skills:
- Experience in
traditional survey equipment or laser scanning devices.
- AutoCAD, or
other 3D mapping user experience.
- High computer
literacy.
- Comfortable
providing training to a variety of clients.
- Ability to
speak in public.
- Ability to
get along well with a diverse group of people, attitudes, and
expectations.
- Courteous and
positive customer and personal service.
- Ability to
use MS Office Suite and general office equipment.
- Ability to
deal with multiple, competing demands and prioritize appropriately.
- Excellent
time management / organization skills.
- Excellent
active listening skills.
- Excellent
speaking and reading comprehension skills in the English language.
- Excellent
written communication skills.
Essential functions:
- Provide
training services to I-Site North American clients and resellers.
- Periodically
review and provide suggestions for improvement for Technical Consultation
processes.
- Deliver
consulting data to clients upon completion of field work.
- Deliver
I-Site product demonstrations to potential North American clients and
resellers.
- Provides
technical support for I-Site hardware and software products to current and
potential North American clients and resellers.
- Ensure
that all work completed leaves the impression that I-Site is a leader in
technology and in our ability to establish a good relationship within the
business environment.
