• Applications are invited for the position of Mine Mechanical Engineer at a mine in the North of England
• Terms and Conditions will be discussed with the successful candidate.
• Reporting to the Mine Chief Engineer, this post holder will have overall responsibility for the Mine Mechanical Department. The post holder may, as directed, deputise for the Mine Chief Engineer.

Key tasks include:-

• Manage and promote an effective Safety regime to comply with the Mine Managers requirements and legislation.
• Plan and manage engineering staff and resources to meet company objectives.
• Liaise with Her Majesty’s Inspector of Mines.
• Manage and maintain an effective Managers Maintenance Scheme for the mine.
• Manage, Prepare and Control Budgets and Departmental Costs.
• Manage and Control labour and equipment resources to meet the day to day running requirements of the mine.
• Set Standards and specifications for equipment and its use.
• Plan and Effect Strategy to meet the Mine Plan requirements.
• Manage training and development of Staff to meet the requirements of the individuals and the Mine.
• Manage training of self to keep up to date with legislation, improvements in the field
• Technical and Practical requirements.
