Environment Health & Safety Analyst / Specialist

ENVIRONMENT HEALTH & SAFETY ANALYST - FILE #C08-054

  • This position will provide direct support on various EHS projects; administer contracts with third party vendors and consultants, and monitor departmental and project budgets
  • You will develop interpretations of new EHS policy directives and potential impact on Canadian business units of Spectra Energy; lead assigned tasks in support of Corporate EHS projects; maintain a consistent framework for project management and assist project managers with tracking and updating project status
  • You will develop proficiencies in analysis and reporting from the Spectra Energy Corporate data management system (EPASS).
  • A college diploma or university degree (preferred) in Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or equivalent is required along with two years of experience in EHS, Operations, Construction, or Consulting; knowledge of Canadian EHS law and/or policy; experience leading or supporting projects and teams, and managing budgets; and Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and Project). CIH, CRSP, CEA or related designation preferred. Travel throughout North America is required.

ENVIRONMENT HEALTH & SAFETY SPECIALIST - FILE #C08-055

  • This position will provide subject matter expertise in EHS hazard recognition, risk assessment, and development of control strategy recommendations for implementation across Spectra Energy Transmission (SET)
  • You will monitor and evaluate EHS performance, and oversee projects through strong leadership of geographically dispersed and cross functional teams
  • You will support the development and implementation of new EHS standards, provide perspective on industry best practice, and design EHS performance metrics within the Spectra Energy Corporate data management system (EPASS).
  • A University degree in Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or equivalent is required along with four years of progressive experience conducting technical EHS risk assessments and developing and implementing health, safety, environmental, and/or quality management systems
  • You have a working knowledge of root cause analysis and statistical trending of leading and lagging performance indicators and hold professional designation (ex. CIH, P.Eng. CRSP, CEA). Travel throughout North America is required.
