Geologist

You will join a team of geologists and supporting staff, working closely with other technical and production personnel. Work will include, but not limited to -

• Logging borehole cores from the underground drilling program.
• Planning and controlling borehole trajectories, entering and processing the results into a database.
• Mapping and sampling underground development headings.
• Interpreting geological data from core logging and mapping.
• Participation in mine planning and grade control.

The Person

• To be successful, you will be a graduate in Geology (or Mining/Applied Geology) with a broad background of science disciplines
• Previous mining experience would be an advantage but is not essential as full training and development will be an integral part of the work
• Strong computer skills will also be an advantage
• You will be self-motivated, reliable, fluent in English and able to get on well with colleagues.

General

• The job involves regular underground duties.
• In accordance with the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996, applicants must be able to demonstrate that they are permitted to work in the UK.
• Applicants must also hold a valid UK driving license
