Department
- The Engineering Department is responsible for the safe, efficient and
effective maintenance of all Production and Support machinery and equipment
- Our vision is to achieve a planned performance level on all Maintenance
and engineering activities within the area of responsibility as established in
our principles of operation.
Position
- A vacancy exists for a Superintendent OPEX Projects in the Projects
Section of the Engineering Department
- Reporting to the Manager Engineering, the successful incumbent will be
responsible for the management of the execution of operational projects through
all levels and taking responsibility to maximise the estimated value creation
within the agreed budget and schedule conforming to the agreed scope by ensuring
that a reasonable budget and schedule has been compiled and that all team
members accept ownership thereof
- Arranging and contracting the required resources, by ensuring regular
reporting of performance in comparison to set objectives.

- The incumbent should possess the following competencies

through to ensure that quality and productivity standards are met

into their component parts. Making systematic and rational judgments based on
relevant information
- Commercial Awareness: Understanding and applying commercial and
financial principles. Viewing issues in terms of costs, profits, markets and
added value.
- Action Orientation: Demonstrating a readiness to make decisions, taking initiative
and originate action
- Strategic: Demonstrating a broad-based view of issues, events,
activities and a perception of their longer term impact or wider implications
- Personal Motivation: Committing self to work hard towards goals. Showing
enthusiasm and career commitment
Minimum Requirements:
- BSc Engineering Degree
- Registered with the Engineering Council of Namibia
- Six (6) years post registration experience of which at least three (3)
years should be in a projects
- management environment as a Team Leader.
- A Mechanical Engineering degree would be an added advantage.

- Technical and analytical problem solving skills
- Strong leadership skills
- Decision making and independent judgement skills
- Excellent interpersonal, organisational and negotiating skills
