Mining Resources Manager



Short- and mid-term mine plan for the A.R. Wilson Quarry

  • Coordinate activities with Resource Development Team Leader (RDS) on developing a long-term plan
  • Support Wilson Quarry operational decision making by advising operational implications to short- and mid-plans examples include annual stripping requirements (in context of short-, mid- and long-term requirements), reserve maximization and availability window, waste generation and disposal effectiveness
  • Develop short-/long-term mine plans for other Aggregate Division sand & gravel operations
  • Work with RDS and Engineering Services on long-term plan implementation
  • Support Sand & Gravel Branch operational decision making by advising how current operations effect short- and long-term mining plans
  • Stripping, reserve maximization and availability window, waste generation and disposal effectiveness
  • Working with Engineering Services, develops consistent mine planning practices, such as selection of software mine plan evaluation tools, in order to present a consistent, updated mine plan (and progress) to Aggregate Division’s management team
  • Participate in Aggregate Division discussions and reviews regarding maximized mining efficiency methods
  • Consult with Aggregate Division Branches regarding Profit Plan formulation in consideration of efficient transition to long-term plan configuration
  • This will add increased attention to phased consideration of stripping and other mining activities, which may be more cost effectively performed on a multi-year basis
  • Investigate the feasibility of Greenfield site opportunities (working with RDS)
  • Support Company’s nine Corporate Objectives and participate in Aggregate Division Baseline achievement.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering/Geology.
  • Skills: Individual would be expected to know both geology and mine planning (possibly learning
  • the portion that they don’t currently possess after joining the Company)
  • Excellent communication skills, and ability to facilitate mulit-divisional meetings, to establish and identify goals which lead to the successful accomplishment of short- and long- term mining plans.
  • Experience: 10+ years of geology and mine planning experience.
  • Must have valid CA Driver’s License and clean driving record.
