Vice President, Operational Excellence

The company is a precious metals concern with a primary focus on the
exploration, mining, processing and sale of silver and gold. The Company has
operations in Peru, Mexico, and Argentina. In addition, it
has over 20 long-term prospects throughout Latin America
Responsibilities
- Assure the fulfillment of operational best practices in all operational
assets
- Bring support to operations and projects through human, capital or
technical resources.
- Oversee the following corporate areas: Metallurgy research, Mine
planning, Laboratory, Maintenance, and Projects.
- Audit the mining assets and exploration areas in order to verify the
fulfillment of the established standards and operational policies.
- Participate in the due diligence process related to new acquisitions
- Advise and bring support to the Vice President, Geology and Exploration
related to the development of new assets.
- Participate in the preparation of annual production plans for mine
operations and planning.
- Prepare the Operational Excellence budget and submit it to the Vice
President, Operations for approval.
- Maintain control of all expenses and costs relative to the areas of
specific responsibility.
- Establish and monitor performance management objectives for all direct
reports within the department of Operational Excellence and make
recommendations for advancement based on them.
- QA/QC and standardization techniques for the entire geological process
including geological software management for explorations and geological
mapping
Experience
- Minimum of 15 years practical experience,
with an emphasis in operations, construction and project management, preferably
in underground precious metals mining with a focus on narrow vein extraction.
- Proven capability in the areas of
operational excellence to include cost reductions and optimization of processes
in all mining activities.
- Proven record in contract administration and
in supervision of engineering and construction services.
- Excellent oral and written communication
skills in Spanish and English.
- Frequent travel to
international locations required.

Education
- University degree in mining engineering or similar with a Masters degree
strongly preferred
