[Employer] proposes to re-develop the [Mine] during the second half of 2008.
The [Mine] is the centre point of [Employer] regional consolidation strategy in [Location] due to its extensive resources and existing gold treatment plant, mine and infrastructure.
The gold treatment plant is capable of treating 1Mtpa of free milling and refractory ores (using the BIOX process) and will be the central treatment facility for ore proposed to be mined from the[Mine].
It is anticipated that mining at [Mine] over the first 6 months of operation will comprise open pit and underground operations with underground mining continuing thereafter. The operation is proposed to be managed on an owner operator basis with direct employee numbers at [Mine] expected to exceed 250.
[Employer] presents to the market a unique opportunity to secure a key senior role with a high calibre management group to re-develop the [Mine] and to build an operations team with the vision and expertise to achieve that goal.
Reporting to the General Manager –[Mine] , the Metallurgy Manager will be an integral part of the [Mine] Operations Team, through strategy and production planning, establishing safety standards and building the ideal team. The processing route at [Mine] comprises conventional crushing, grinding and sulphide flotation ahead of biological oxidation (using the BIOX® process), counter current decantation (CCD), neutralisation and cyanide leaching prior to the smelting of dore. The role is technically and managerially challenging.
Accordingly, expressions of interest are sought from persons holding tertiary qualifications in Extractive Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, Mineral Processing or an equivalent with experience in a similar role. Practiced knowledge in gold processing and preferably exposure to flotation and bacterial oxidisation will be highly regarded.
A competitive remuneration package including performance related remuneration and employee share option scheme with additional benefits will be negotiated with the successful applicant. The role on offer is FIFO on an 8:6 roster.
