Our Client’s well established Nickel Project, located in the Central [Location]of Western Australia are currently seeking the services of an experienced Underground Training Officer to join their team.
The Underground Training Officer role plays an integral role in maintaining a safe workplace.
Provides advice on safety issues, ensure proper documentation and record keeping of safety issues, policies and procedures and also assist supervisors to provide realistic training plans for the employees.
Duties of this role are:
Assist in the implementation of a safety first culture matching legislative and company requirements, with the specific objectives of :
Developing operational skills Improving equipment performance
Attaining production targets Lowering cost through productivity improvements and maintenance
Assist safety staff and management by providing training in development and implementation of, and assessment or reassessment of:
· Job Hazard Analysis Safe Work Procedures Safety Act Observations, and Hazard and Incident reporting
· Develop and maintain a Training Matrix of courses to support site needs.
· Analyse training needs and develop course outlines, lesson plans, instructional materials and course manuals.
· Design or coordinate the design and delivery of knowledge and skill training needs assessments for all staff and contractors on site.
· Deliver staff inductions and deliver skills and knowledge training in line with site requirements.
· Create, update and maintain accurate records reflecting training needs analysis, training delivery and assessment outcomes for staff.
Requirements of the role are:
· Current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment;
· Senior First Aid and Mine Workers Health Surveillance combined with extensive & recent experience in workplace training.
· Be licensed and experienced in mobile and heavy equipment handling i.e.
UG Loader, Normet Charge up unit, Light Vehicle UG, UG dump truck, UG IT28/Volvo/Geni,
Demonstrated awareness of Occupational Health & Safety principles and systems.
