Job Description:
- Provides direction and
management for every phase of construction program to ensure on-schedule
completion within or below budget and in accordance with contractual
obligations
- Plans and defines
construction goals and devises methods to accomplish them; develops in-depth
knowledge of client objectives, contract terms, and corporate policies
- The position reports into
the Project Manager.
- Responsible for managing,
coordinating, and administering the area construction project duties from the
conceptual stages through planning, engineering, procurement, construction,
start-up, performance testing, initial operations, and prime contract
close-out.
- Supervises the development
of budgets and schedules, manages performance, reports progress, and initiates
action to assure program/project objectives and schedules are met and work is
performed within budget and according to specifications.
- Resolves problems and
coordinates the final engineering scopes of work in conjunction with Project Manager
for turnover to Client.
- Provides leadership for the
development and maintenance of a high performance construction project team.
- Responsibility for project
construction execution, ensuring that construction project is delivered within
contract requirements, standards of quality and safety and to Client and the
Company’s performance expectations.
- Assigns manpower,
materials, and equipment to maximize efficiency, maintain schedules, and to
meet budget goals
- Anticipates and resolves
various problems such as changes in scope, slippage of schedules, and budget
overruns.
- Interfaces with the Project
Manager/Client; presents regular formal reports and/or as needed; keeps Project
Manager and senior management informed and current at all times.
- Ensures that Company labour
relations policies are applied consistently.
- Represents the Company in
the field and ensures effective implementation of all Company and client
policies and procedures
- May act as official liaison
with client representatives, subcontractors, and government representatives.
- Completes other
responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
- Mobilizes Company
resources, through effective liaison with support departments, other offices,
or subsidiaries, to create project teams capable of completing effective,
quality work.
- May participate in negotiations
with regulatory agencies and in public meetings in support of clients.
Qualifications
- Typically possesses 12+
years experience in the following functions: project management, engineering,
construction, project controls and procurement.
- Thorough understanding of
the scope of work covered by the prime contract
- Has demonstrated knowledge
of construction, engineering and procurement, and other project related
activities, including their interfaces and interdependencies
- Broad knowledge of industry
standards.
- Ability to manage large
projects and to take corrective action, monitor work, manage conflict, and
coordinate the activities of others, including joint ventures, alliances and
consortiums.
Any Special Requirements
- Russian/Ukrainian/Slavic speaking
is highly desirable.
- For work permit purposes,
candidate cannot be older than 62
