Located upstream of the cycle of energy, the Mines BU has the role of
exploration, exploitation of uranium mines, extraction of the ore and estimates
of reserves. The operational company exploits layers of uranium located at the
edge of the solid mass of ore, 800 kms from Niamey. Because of the
isolation of the site, the company also manages the related activities to the
mine: management of the village, hospital, airfield, etc.
- The Director of Production reports to the General Manager (Mine Manager/
Director Exploitation), who is responsible for the success of this operational
unit of the company.
- Its mission consists in managing the production equipment in order to
guarantee the production expected and planned for, at the lowest cost price
For this reason, it coordinates the following activities:
- Geology (surveys, reserves, exploration and monitoring production);
- Mine (extraction of the uranium ore);
- Treatment plant, metallurgical processing of the ore;
- Maintenance (mining machines, vehicles, industrial complex, village and
provision of services/ utilities)
- Purchasing (inventory control and stores)
The manpower represents 24 engineers, 127 supervisors and 857 trades and
employees. This work force serves to control and develop of the production,
management strategy and information systems.
The role is located in Niger 800 km out of Niamey.
Work hours: Normal schedule 5 days out of 7. Possibility of
living in family on the spot.
REQUIREMENTS
Solid expertise in the management of a production facility of similar
size, with a particular competence in one of the following fields:
- management of mining operations, open pit or underground mines;
- management of mineral process facility or ore treatment plant.
As a Director of Production, you will:
- have real aptitude for management and motivate teams: key competence to
meet production targets;
- be able to show a high level of energy and a proven work track record;
- be able live as an expatriate on an isolated site (a single-status
contract is also on offer/ rotations as follows: 3 months on site/3 weeks at
home);
- hold an Engineering diploma from a recognized technical university
(Mining, Electrical, Mechanical, Metallurgy, etc.) or equivalent expertise (HND
with Certificates of Competence);
- have confirmed experience in this field with a solid reputation.
- have a good to fluent grasp of French
