Our client is one of the largest mining companies of it's type in the world, and they are currently seeking a Senior Metallurgist to work on an iconic large scale, open cut mining project in close proximity to[Location].
This outstanding mining organisation operates numerous mines across the globe, coupled with a quality portfolio of assets across Australia.
As a result of exciting expansion activities, they are seeking a Senior Metallurgist to lead the metallurgy department's technical team at this site, soon to be the largest of it's kind in Australia.
Your key accountabilities will include:
· Technical functions - to ensure on-going processing improvements
· Project management
· People management and mentoring - team of 8
· Budget preparation, cost management and reporting
· Compliance/Quality control
To be successful it is ideal that applicants will have:
· A tertiary degree in metallurgy
· 10-15 years experience in the mining industry
· Proven success in supervisory or management roles
· 5 years in base metals milling operations
· Excellent communicational skills and self motivation
· Effective problem solving ability
