Our clients $2.4 billion project, once in full operation will be the largest gold mining in Australia - do you want to be a part of this exciting expansion project and work in a state-of-the-art processing plant?
 
Our client is an international success story and are seen as an employer of choice in the highly competitive gold mining industry. Located 130 kilometres from [Location] in Western Australia's southeast, this joint venture is built on the footprint of the original mine in the area. The operation involves open cut mining from two large pits and is expected to produce an average 850,000 ounces of gold and 30,000 tonne of copper a year for more than 20 years.
 
Production is due to commence in late 2008 so they are in full swing recruiting key staff that will be driving this project in the short, medium and long term, hence why this vacancy has arisen.
 
The purpose of the role:
If successful you will be responsible for maintaining the metallurgical performance of the ore processing facility according to budget KPI's. By working closely with the production department you will monitor current performance, identify opportunities for improvement and work towards implementing solutions that will return positive cash flow to the business.
 
Major responsibilities of the role include:
·         Ensuring metallurgical production targets are achieved
·         Investigate excursions from optimum plant performance
·         Manage the planning and execution of plant and laboratory trials and testwork
·         Implement improvements into the plant, monitoring such improvements and reporting on actual performance.
·         Produce weekly production projection report, highlight and investigate variances from budget
 
Candidate requirements:
·         Degree in metallurgy
·         10 + years experience in the mining industry
·         5 + years experience in gold or base metals and milling operations
·         5 + years experience in a supervisory/ senior capacity
 
If successful you will work on a 8 days on 6 days off roster drive in and out from [Location]. An attractive remuneration package will be discussed with you at the time of interview.
