Mill/Pipeline Superintendent

This position is responsible for managing all mill, pipeline, and laboratory activities at the Vernal, UT phosphate mine in a safe, environmentally responsible, and cost effective manner consistent with Company policy and in compliance with all government laws and regulations.

• Provide leadership and direction to mill, pipeline and laboratory personnel through open communication, equitable and consistent application of company policy and procedures, personnel development, team building and accessibility.
• Manage, direct and monitor operations in compliance with all employment laws, MSHA/OSHA regulations, environmental permits and other pertinent laws and regulations ensuring product quality and availability within operating and budget parameters.
• Analyze and present new technologies to enhance efficiency and plant performance and provide continuous improvement.
• Stay informed of current laws and issues through networking, seminars, and literature.
• Develop department annual operating and capital budgets and direct the development and implementation of department short and long-term strategic plans.
• Must possess excellent leadership, planning, problem solving and budgeting ability.
• Requires Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university and five to ten years’ progressive, related experience and responsibility in the operation and maintenance of grinding plants, flotation cells, concentrators, conveyor systems, thickeners, pipelines and pumps; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
