Job description

ACTIVITIES
- Build the right communication channels and relationships to get all necessary information internally as well as from any Contractors
- Is the main contributor to the preparation of the AFE (formal investment authorization) file and G&A (General and Administrative) budget. Cost tracking, reporting & forecasting against AFEs for capital projects or G&A for OPEX.
- Proposes the adequate budget split for cost control and follow up, based on available cost estimate data
- Analyzes the technical/contractual deviations from initial budget with the relevant Departments and routinely forecasts cost to complete per AFE
- Anticipates any significant change related to costs, and proposes an update of the final cost estimate
- Must immediately report these deviations to the VPs.
- Is in charge of editing weekly and monthly cost control reports for projects and G&A.
- Updates, on a regular basis, the data coming from other entities which may impact the schedule and/or the cost estimate of the project (strategy, APP cost estimate team, marketing, etc.)
- Is involved in discussions with the stakeholders as soon as they impact costs or schedule of the project
- Will work closely with Finance in support of budget and Plan exercises, as well as monthly accruals.
- Cost tracking, reporting & forecasting against OPEX budgets, creates and maintains an OPEX database.
- Ensure correct coding is on invoices with splits between AFEs as appropriate.
- Provide appropriate assistance to staff involved in invoices coding or SAP validation process.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Secure the proper cost control of the geosciences activities.
- Secure the accuracy of data input in SAP, propose corrective actions if required
- Provide high quality and self-explanatory reporting
Education :
- Bachelor's + 3 years experience in a similar position
Experience :
- Technical knowledge of the Oil industry (Geosciences would be a plus)
Skills :
- Must be rigorous and reliable
- Good interpersonal skills
