Mine Planning Lead

• Providing input into a mine cost database.
• Interface with equipment manufacturers and vendors for the collection of cost and performance data on mine equipment, and participation in the development of Request For Proposal on the selection of mine equipment and/or services.
• Support the mine planning group when needed in the development of mine plans in support of the construction phase and operation of the Joslyn North Mine and future pits.
• Supporting current and future regulatory applications and detailed engineering, as required.
• Interface with mine contractors and vendors.
• Manage engineering consultants.
• Manage and coordinate mine planning acivities.

• Mentoring of junior staff.
• Working with Geology and Extraction staff to ensure optimum development of the JMP.
• Providing engineering support during the construction phase(s) of the mine.
• Working within HSE policies as established by TEPC.
• Mentoring of junior/intermediate staff.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mine Engineering

• Minimum 10 years experience in surface mining, preferably in oil sands
• APEGGA membership required
