Job description
We have big expansion plans for our Alberta operations. Along with big plans, comes big opportunity. You will play a crucial role in achieving our goal of becoming a leading producer in the Alberta oilsands.
ACTIVITIES
- Develop necessary processes and procedures;
- Develop plan with Engineering Contractors and track and report on progress to plan;
- Analyze risk and opportunities and instigate avoidance and mitigation activities;
- Establish contingency plans and identify trigger events and responsibility for initiating corrective action;
- Analyze actual performance against plan and make adjustments consistent with plan objectives;
- Keep all stakeholders informed of progress and issues;
- Ensure continued adherence by Contractors to standards and specifications;
- Organize design reviews and control quality of deliverables;
- Manage change to preserve business plan commitments;
- Manage interface between Engineering Team and other project groups (operations, construction, HSE, Community Engagement, Controls) to ensure design is meeting requirements and changes are managed to project’s objectives;
- Take a leadership role in promoting and enhancing construction safety in design;
- Identify innovative methods of improving design in order to provide better value for the project; and
- Strong knowledge in referential, directives and corporate approval requirements.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Manages change as per the Project Execution Plan.
- Works within HSE policies as established by TEPC.
- Implementation of HSE plan and promotion and enhancement of safety in design.
- Continually improving and identifying opportunities to enhance design practices.
- Responsible for compliance of construction plan and execution with legal, regulatory and TEPC requirements.
Education:
- Diploma or degree in related field
Experience:
- Experience in Engineering in large projects preferably in oil sands extraction plants
- 5-10 years of relevant experience
Skills:
- Motivated and self-starter
- Team player
- Well developed communication and organizational skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Command of French language would be helpful.
