Froth Treatment Program Manager



Job description
We have big expansion plans for our Alberta operations. Along with big plans, comes big opportunity. You will play a crucial role in achieving our goal of becoming a leading producer in the Alberta oilsands.
 
ACTIVITY
  • Acquire familiarity with Total E&P Joslyn Ltd (TEPJ) froth treatment plant design within the context of
  • upgrader study
  • solvent issues
  • current commercial design practice
  • outcome of 2007 pilot plant program
  • Complete plan and budget for 2009 Q1 & Q2 froth treatment pilot
  • Manage 2009 froth treatment pilot program and prepare final report and recommendations
  • Supervise EIT with 2007 pilot experience in the 2009 program
  • Contribute to front end engineering development (FEED) via
  • extracting relevant data and observations from the pilot plant report and communicating it to engineering contractor responsible for the basic design of the commercial plant
  • review and approval of relevant contractor deliverables
  • Work as a team member to identify, define, and resolve design issues associated with the froth production plant design; such as:
  • Water chemistry
  • Rheology
  • Effect of ore type
  • Equipment definition
  • Manage approved projects and maintain costs within budget.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Assessment and recommendations regarding process development plans
  • Keep costs within budget
  • Proven design basis for FEED of froth treatment plant
  • Familiarity with conventional oilsand extraction practices
 Education :
  • Degree in related field
Experience :
  • 10+ years experience in oilsand processing process development/commercial design activities
