Database Geologist
We represent a new and exciting joint venture between one of the worlds largest diversified mining companies, and an Australian listed company with coal and Iron ore projects around the world. With an already established and successful operation which they are looking to expand and further exploration of mining tenements within [Location]this is an exciting time to join this fledgling joint venture.
As a result of this growth they are looking to recruit a Database Geologist to support the drilling operations and geological data acquisition currently taking place in[Location]. As Database Geologist you will be tasked with delivering a geological model to form the data required for current and future development, investment and operational plans.
Reporting to the Senior Mine Geologist, your responsibilities will include:
· Maintenance of geological and geotechnical databases for internal and external consultants:
· Collection, analysis, correlation, interpretation and presentation of geological and geophysical data to the senior Geologist and Management team;
· Planning, implementation and supervision of drilling and exploration programs in conjuction with the Senior Geologist;
· Production of resource statements as required;
· Field assistance in core logging and geological mapping as required.
To be successful for this role you be required to hold a tertiary qualification in geology or equivalent. Have post degree mine related experience, ideally in coal. Good working knowledge of Aquire, Minex, Vulcan, Mincoms minescape or similar modelling software.
