Glendell Mine is a new greenfield operation for Xstrata Coal NSW, located approximately 20km north of the township of Singleton in the Hunter Valley of NSW. The site will produce 4.5mtpa of export coal when it reaches full production in early 2009 with extensive coal reserves to support mine life.
The mine will be operated with new equipment including; Hitachi 5500 and 2500 excavators, Caterpillar 793D and 789D rear dump trucks, Caterpillar ancillary equipment and Terex – Reedrill Rotary drills. With the latest proven technology, a sound resource and a growing dynamic team culture, Glendell is an exciting opportunity.
Glendell Mine is seeking applications from individuals who are suitably qualified and experienced as a Maintenance Fitter/Service Technician. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor you will apply your knowledge and expertise in maintaining and servicing the mining fleet.
Key accountabilities
· Promote and maintain a high safety performance through personal commitment and application of Glendell policies and procedures.
· Ensure impacts on environment and our community are managed by following procedures and guidelines.
· Work with the Maintenance Supervisor to ensure that production and operational targets are achieved by using your experience and trade skills efficiently in a team based environment.

· Qualifications and Experience:
· Relevant trade certificate
· Experienced in the maintenance of large earthmoving equipment in an open cut mining environment
· Experienced in the fuelling and servicing of large earthmoving equipment in an open cut mining environment.
