Nautilus Minerals is leading the world in developing the seafloor mining industry. Much like the petroleum industry, Nautilus Minerals is looking to tap vast offshore resources and is on track to develop high grade seafloor massive sulphide (“SMS”) mounds of copper, gold, zinc and silver. Discover new resources and be a part of creating a new industry.
This is an exciting Brisbane based opportunity to lead the way in exploring for an emerging resource model. SMS exploration is rapidly evolving and geophysics obviously plays a major role in offshore exploration. The successful candidate will ensure geophysical projects are managed to best practice standards as well as play a leading role in driving continuous improvement of the company’s exploration process through the delivery of innovative geophysical techniques.
You will be at the forefront of innovation through the development of exploration strategy and tools to maximise discoveries and exploration efficiency for seafloor mining. You will manage the geophysical R&D and global geophysical programs; as well as the selection of geophysical techniques and tools to ensure the success of the group’s exploration and resource evaluation programs. Reporting to the Exploration Manager, you will also be responsible for mentoring a world-class geophysics team as well as the project management of off-shore programs and the successful commercialisation of relevant geophysical innovations.
To work for Nautilus, you will have the ambition to provide world-class techniques and solutions to a revolutionary project. You will be able to demonstrate strong ‘hands on’ geophysical skills along with experience in project management and exploration strategy. Those with an understanding of SMS systems and proven ability to develop state-of-the-art geophysical techniques are highly desired. Along with well developed written and oral communication skills, you will be suitably degree qualified with additional business studies an advantage. You will have had a minimum of 15 years exploration experience with at least 5 years managing and leading teams.
