Our client is a global industry leader in the supply of iron ore. Due to the ongoing boom in WA, they require a Geology Superintendent to assist in expansion of existing operations and development of new sites to further consolidate their position as a worldwide leader. Part of this expansion will involve overseeing a comprehensive exploration programme aimed at advancing some of the existing targets.
This is a genuine opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed individual to join a large multi-national mining group. You will be required to utilise your knowledge and expertise within the team to ensure that all aspects of the site based geology function is meeting (or exceeding) expectations.
The role will include, but is not limited to the following responsibilities:
· Supervision of geology personnel and staff
· Liaise with contractors and a wide range of industry personnel on mine geology and mining activities
· Ensure mapping, grade control and reconciliation is maintained to a high standard
· Progress resource and exploration drill programmes in accordance with LOM and budget schedules
· Review for resource and reserves estimates.
The successful candidate will have previous experience in large scale operations and will be degree qualified in Geology. You will have a minimum of 5 years production geology experience and be technically competent across all areas listed above.
The ability to lead, motivate and supervise a geology team, including Graduate Geologists, will be a key component of your success.
