In this role you will be primarily responsible for effective mine planning, coordination and continuous improvement of geological functions. You will enable the achievement of short and long-term business objectives and be responsible for providing leadership which will ensure a safe, reliable and cost efficient operation.
You will be a trainer, facilitator and operational planner managing a team of six production geologists. Your responsibilities to this team will include conducting performance reviews, updating of job descriptions and monitoring of KPI’s. At all times you will ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, safe work instructions, standard operating procedures and statutory legislation.
Knowledge and experience in sediment-hosted Zn-Pb-Ag mineralization, LHOS and benching mining methods, geological data collection, analysis and interpretation, modeling and reporting, sampling, quality analysis and quality control is essential. Ideally you will be working in a structurally complex mine with a high degree of geological input.
Your key skills and competencies will include:
· Degree in Geology
· Minimum 5 years (Underground) geological experience.
· Working knowledge of Mine Sight or similar software.
· Experience in Mineral Resource Estimation.
