Drill & Blast Engineer- Up to $125k

This is a genuine opportunity for a junior engineer to join a well respected Australian grown and owned commodity who has the financial stability and diversity to offer employees on-going career opportunities for the longer term.

Part of their Energy division, their coal site in Central Queensland produces around 7 million tonnes of metallurgical and steam coal annually for supply to customers in Asia and Europe. Due to programme expansions, they now require a junior to mid level Drill & Blast Engineer for this landmark site.

Reporting to a Senior Mining Engineer, your duties will include:
·         Ensuring compliance with Safety and Environmental systems, policies and procedures
·         Developing Drill & Blast plans/designs and schedules & communicate plans to relevant personnel
·         Monitor Drill & Blast operations according to plan
·         Conduct strip reconciliations
·         Develop, implement, monitor and report designated project works

You must have a relevant degree in Mining or Civil Engineering (or equivalent) with a minimum 18 months Drill & Blast experience (preferably coal). You will be conversant with mine planning and scheduling software / equipment.

Knowledge of Vulcan and Aquila Drilling Management System is desirable, but not essential. This is a great opportunity for a junior engineer to make a mark with an Australian legend. On-going career progression is on offer as well as regular performance reviews.
