Senior Hydrogeologist

Our client is an employee owned consultancy with a focus on technically challenging projects, undertaken in a strong teamwork environment. They have an enviable reputation throughout the world and have one of the strongest groundwater teams in Australia and New Zealand. Hence they are working on and winning major projects throughout Australia and New Zealand. Salaries are generous and an ad hoc bonus system is in place.
They have an extremely supprotive culture which has a strict "work-life"balance policy which is adhered to from the "top down". This includes the option of 5 weeks leave per year and a free days leave for employees on their birthday!
Applicants need to have a minimum of 10 years groundwater related experience. A post-graduate qualification in hydrogeology is desirable.
This position is based in New Zealand (the successful applicant can be located in [Location] ) and requires working closely with clients throughout NZ. A strong understanding of the market for hydrogeological consultancy services in New Zealand is preferred, or a successful track record of experience in other locations throughout the world is acceptable.
Your experience should include experience in some or all of the following areas; groundwater resources, investigations and assessments, borefield design, feasibility studies, groundwater modelling, contaminant transport studies, salinty and groundwater reserves compliance reporting. You should also have demonstrable project management experience.
To be successful in this role you will require excellent oral and written communication skills, refined time management skills, ability to lead single and multiple-disciplinary teams and a commitment to both quality of deliverables and a customer driven business. An innovative approach towards problem solving and the ability to develop profitable business relationships are also important.
The desire to work in a non-hierarchical environment which truly puts their people rather than "the bottom line" first is a necessary pre-requisite for all applicants.
