Field Service Technician

Our client is part of a global high technology engineering group. In Australia, they are the leading supplier of equipment, tools and services to the mining and construction industries and have a network of locations based in all major regional hubs.
Due to substantial growth within their organisation, they are currently seeking a number of suitably qualified and experienced Field Service Technicians to provide maintenance support to their local workshop and remote site operations.
In this role, you will be responsible for maintenance, repairs and fault diagnostic work on heavy duty underground mobile mining equipment. Whilst based out of their busy workshop in the heart of [Location], this position will also require extensive travel as you will also provide support to a number of remote mine site locations.
In this position, you will need to be able to:
· Work in accordance to set budgets and timeframes
· Comply with site regulations and safety standards
· Commission new units and be involved in new product implementation and feedback
· Read electrical & hydraulic schematics
· Communicate effectively and build good rapport with clients & operators
· Work underground and/or in open pit site environment
To be suitable for this role, it is essential you have relevant mechanical trade qualifications as well as previous experience working on heavy duty underground mining equipment - such as drills, trucks and loaders.
Exposure to hydraulics, electrics and compressor training will be highly regarded as will sound computer skills and an understanding of schematics. This position is residential, living and working in [Location] and would suit someone already based in or looking to relocate to the [Location] area. Relocation assistance will be provided for the right individuals.
