Geotechnical Consultant

• Taking a senior role in a team undertaking design and management of geoenvironmental investigations, design of earthworks, and assessment of slope stability, foundation bearing capacity and settlement analyses selection of ground improvement and remediation methods
• Assisting in business development and Key Account Management of major clients Supervision and mentoring of less experienced staff
• Project management of investigations and design projects including scheduling works, monitoring budgets and change control, completing project summary reports Ensuring compliance with Atkins Business Management Systems Technical liaison with clients and regulators Project management of remediation contracts
• Providing specialist advice to clients and other divisions
• Working with the rest of the team in advancing our technical capability to the highest standard
• Promoting Atkins by the preparation of papers and presentations to professional groups as appropriate

Requirements

• Should be of or approaching Chartered status and should have a Civil Engineering or Engineering Geology qualification
• Ideal candidates will have an MSc in an appropriate discipline
• Have experience in geotechnical engineering in a contaminated land or brownfield context
• Have experience of the preparation of specifications and contract documentation for geotechnical works and preferably, construction works
• Ffluent in the use of Microsoft Project or similar software
• Be familiar with relevant codes of practice and industry standards
